About the violin

A lovely German one piece back violin made in Saxony circa 1800.

The back is in one piece of quarter-sawn maple marked with a faint curl of narrow width; the ribs, scroll and neck of similar wood. The front is of fine grain spruce which broadens towards the flanks and the varnish of a golden brown colour.

Condition:

The violin is set up with Evah Pirazzi strings and is in very good condition.

How does it sound?

A warm tone across the lower register and bright at the top end.
