A French violin labelled ‘Antonius Stradivarius Cremona Facibat Anno 16’

The violin back, length 361mm, is in two pieces of quarter-sawn maple with a very faint curl of medium width; the ribs, scroll and neck of similar wood. The front is of wide grain spruce. The varnish of a golden-brown colour.
