Bonghyun Yang, Stone 2015

About the instrument:

Bonghyun Yang trained at Newark International School of Violin Making from 2007-2010 and went on to work in our workshop as a restorer. He made this cello from 100 year old wood from the David Rubio estate.

This 2015 cello, length 762mm, is in two pieces of quarter-sawn maple of pronounced flame; the ribs and scroll of similar wood. The front is of medium grain spruce with some bear claw markings. It has an orange-yellow varnish.

Condition:

Excellent condition throughout with fantastic wood.

How does it sound? A powerful sounding cello with good projection. Well balanced throughout the range.
