About the instrument:

Auguste Désiré Louis Falisse was christened on 14 March, 1883 in Liège and died in 1951 in Brussels. His father, Lambert Louis Auguste Falisse, was a violinist and his mother, Marie Elise Falisse (née Heynberg), was a pianist.

The violin back, length 353mm, is in one piece of quarter-sawn maple with a strong curl of fine-medium width; the ribs, scroll and neck of similar wood. The front is of fine grain spruce and the varnish of a golden-brown colour.
