The Makers
Emile Boulangeot
1877 - 1944
Boulangeot was apprenticed to Emile Laurent in 1890 and worked for Gustave Bernardel from 1893 and Caressa & Français until 1909.
After succeeding to the Paul Blanchard workshop in Lyons in 1912 he also took over the prestigious appointment as luthier to the Lyons Conservatory. Boulangeot retired in 1928.
Our Boulangeot violin, dating from 1925, is a truly exceptional example from the maker. The fruits of a lifetime of the highest quality professional activity are evident in the fine workmanship, the excellence of the varnish – in application, colour and texture – and the outstanding tonal qualities.
A superb example both for the player or collector
