Can I try an instrument at the shop; do you have a dedicated space for this?

It’s always a good idea to try out a variety of instruments before making a decision. At our location, we have three separate rooms available for trying out instruments and a repair workshop for any necessary adjustments. The building has a fascinating history, once a solicitor’s office and a draper’s shop. With four storeys, we have plenty of space to accommodate our customers. Restrooms are available on-site, and we are happy to arrange for disabled access if needed. Just let us know in advance, and we’ll ensure the ground floor trying-out room is reserved for your visit.

If you’re planning to drop by during the week, appointments aren’t always necessary but it’s a good idea to reserve a spot on Saturdays. That’s because it tends to be the busiest day.

Instruments and bows for sale

The artistry and melody that instruments like violins, violas, cellos, and double basses create have been treasured for centuries. The craftsmanship of these instruments is truly remarkable, and their ability to produce beautiful music is unmatched. However, it is important to note that the bow used to play the instrument is just as important as the instrument itself. Made of horsehair and either Pernambuco wood or synthetic materials, the bow is responsible for producing the sound and tone of the instrument. At Tim Toft Violins, we offer a wide range of stringed instruments and bows for sale.
